An Ode to Statistics

O statistics!

The highly touted science-fact.
Two sides to your number, there doth exist.
Those which are accepted, among the perfected.
Those that are excepted, among the rejected.

Blind are they to that which proves.
The number of the truth? It is refused.
To sit and wait on pollsters' ruse,
The only "truth" is that which skews.

Meticulous handling, common. True.
Applied is the science, but not for me or you.
Purloined deliberately,
Established for the elite and the few.

In the end, the numbers void.
A point is proved, but for who?
Look and view upon the numbers true.
Stand relieved, elated but few.
